A gender perspective on fair jobs and growth

Sweden’s Gender Equality Minister Åsa Regnér is inviting European colleagues to the conference How Gender Equality can contribute to Fair Jobs and Growth in Gothenburg on 8th November 2017. The conference will take place ahead of the Social Summit on fair jobs and growth later in November, hosted by the President of the European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker and Sweden’s Prime Minister Stefan Löfvén.

A gender perspective is essential to achieving well-functioning and fair labour markets, sustainable social security systems, as well as inclusive growth. By bringing together key stakeholders, there will be fruitful discussions on how strategic gender equality policies on EU level, as well as nationally, can contribute to a more Social Europe.

The target group for the conference includes gender equality ministers from a selection of EU Member States, representatives of the social partners, the European Commission, the European Institute for Gender Equality and civil society representatives. The conclusions from the day will provide valuable input to the Social Summit.
